Journeyman Prep Program (JPP)
All Journeyman Prep classes are held at the IEC office that is located at 7044 Commerce Park Dr. Midvale, UT 84047. Once you have paid and filled out the registration form, you are enrolled. Both steps must be completed two days prior to the course date; your spot is not guaranteed until payment has been met.
IEC of Utah offers help to apprentices working for contractor members. Candidates preparing to take their Utah Journeyman License tests may choose to participate in the test prep options listed below:
- Question and Answer Study Session- Journeyman Prep Question and Answer study sessions are held once each month. The purpose of these sessions is to help with study plans, and to answer specific questions about Code or Theory tests. This session is NOT a prepared presentation, but instead is an opportunity to get in-person feedback on questions that come up after taking the journeyman test or that arise from other test preparation activities.
- Practical Practice Session- The Practical Practice class is awesome! This session is offered once every month to prepare candidates for the State Practical Exam . Students will be given tips and hints for being prepared for the practical exam, including what tools to take and suggestions for double-checking their work before allowing the proctor to examine. The IEC training facility is equipped with boards for practicing all of the practical tests including motor control, conduit bending, transformer hookup, 3 and 4 way switching, torque wrench setting.
